Royal Caribbean's Oasis of the Seas: Overview and Things to Do

Below, we provide a full guide to sailing on the ship, including a tour, tips, things to know, and our full thoughts. The Vitality at Sea Spa and Fitness Center may not feel like it deserves its own ranking as a neighborhood on these ships, but that’s only what you’ll think at first glance. Currently, all of the Oasis class vessels are considered the largest passenger ships in the world, with Wonder of the Seas being the largest of all. A Mediterranean cruise is a great way to get a taste of some of Italy’s brightest stars – both figuratively and literally.

In 2019, Oasis of the Seas received a $165 million amplification to modernize the ship. New dining and bar venues, a revamped pool deck, updated kids programming, and new activities were just some of the changes made to the ship. Due to the amplification, Oasis of the Seas feels new and refreshed despite being almost 14 years old. Snag a Casita EarlyOne of the popular spots on the ship are the casitas on the pool deck. These small covered areas offer a couple of loungers, a charging port, and some shade on sunny days at sea. Moving forward there is a Splashaway Bay for kids, along with three different pools, and multiple waterslides.

If you’re into adrenaline-amping experiences, you’ll find plenty of bucket list worthy thrills to conquer on Perfect Day at CocoCay — from white-knuckle waterslides to the largest wave pool in the Caribbean. When the options are this good, there’s no such thing as too many. That’s why we’ve added even more possibilities to our seemingly endless selection of best restaurants — so you can take that family dinner or date night to the next level. Now you can grab crazy good Mexican fare at El Loco Fresh® or game-day favorites at Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade.

Diamond members may enjoy this venue, as it is a two story venue with huge windows overlooking the Boardwalk neighborhood. Despite not having these signature activities, Allure of the Seas still offers many signature activities onboard like rock climbing, mini golf, ziplining, the FlowRider, etc. The Lime & Coconut bar was also added to the pool deck, which serves a variety of tropical drinks such as the Watermelon Rita, Blue Hawaiian, and signature Lime & Coconut cocktail.

Sail from Rome or Barcelona onboard the wow-worthy Oasis of the Seas® to Western Mediterranean shores. All Royal Caribbean Oasis-class ships are world's first passenger vessels with a DNV Green Passport. The certificate is not compulsory, but it shows the environmental commitment of the operator line Royal Caribbean International. Another interesting feature is that their hulls have a special non-toxic covering that minimizes friction and saves fuel.

Symphony of the Seas was the first Royal Caribbean ship to debut the Ultimate Family Suite, Royal Caribbean’s most expensive suite. The Ultimate Family Suite is designed to be an oasis for kids, with an in-suite slide, air hockey table, LEGO wall, and private gaming area. She is the only Oasis Class ship without the Wonderland specialty restaurant onboard.

Grand Panoramic Suite - 1 Bedroom

There are four distinct pool areas on the Oasis of the Seas pool deck. You’ll find three main pools and one Splashaway Bay area for kids, which has small slides, water sprayers, and climbing areas. If you are interested in dining at specialty restaurants on Oasis of the Seas, you may want to consider purchasing a dining package.

This "secret area" offers great views of the ship’s wake (trace on the water surface), also provides great views of the entire neighborhood and has a shuffleboard. Oasis is the fourth largest cruise ship, having been surpassed by sister vessels Allure of the Seas, Harmony of the Seas and Symphony of the Seas. While Oasis of the Seas used to be the largest cruise ship in the world, she no longer holds that title. With a few exceptions, Oasis of the Seas typically offers 7-night cruises with prices that are budget friendly, as well as more extravagant suite options for those that want to splurge.

Caribbean cruises depart from Fort Lauderdale and Miami, and take place over as few as two nights, but up to over a week, with stops all throughout the region. Outside of signature activities, there are even more activities listed each day in the Cruise Compass, such as family scavenger hunts, kids karaoke, family craft time at Adventure Ocean, etc. In addition to the main pool deck, which is accessible to guests of all ages, is an adults-only Solarium for guests 16 and older. Simply put, there’s a huge variety of entertainment on Oasis of the Seas, and you’ll find several options to choose from every night of the cruise. There is an abundance of food to enjoy on any Royal Caribbean cruise ship, but especially on an Oasis Class ship.

Each Oasis Class ship also features an adults-only Solarium for guests 16 and older, with a pool and several jacuzzis. Teens have their own space onboard Oasis Class ships, with both indoor and outdoor spaces to hang out. Allure of the Seas does not yet have waterslides, but the Cyclone, Typhoon, and Supercell slides will be added to the ship once the Royal Amplified program returns.

Royal Caribbean revamped the ship in 2019 and has some of the wildest suites you’ll ever see. The favorite one that we saw is above the captain’s bridge and offers 180 degree views in the bedroom as it juts out the side of the ship. There are also some of the most luxurious spots you can imagine… if you have the money. On Deck 6 there is the Boardwalk, an open area at the back of the ship. Here you’ll find Playmakers (a sports bar), as well as video games, TVs showing sports, and a pool table. There’s a large carousel, as well as a number of small shops and spots to eat.

And yet, Royal Caribbean Oasis of the Seas has been enthusiastically embraced as one of the cruise line's most beloved vessels, even more than a decade after its launch. At double occupancy, Oasis sails with 5,606 passengers, but during the busiest seasons there can be nearly 6,700 people onboard. Its onboard attractions are so popular that up to one-third of the passengers never even leave the ship in port.

Fortunately, Perfect Day at CocoCay offers loads of delicious dining options to satisfy all your cravings. That’s why we’ve added even more possibilities to our seemingly endless selection of best restaurants – so you can take that family dinner or date night to the next level. Now you can grab incredibly good Mexican fare at El Loco Fresh® or match-day favourites at Playmakers℠ Sports Bar & Arcade. See how we put our own spin on a weekend favourite, with pitmastery perfection at the new Portside BBQ℠. Find new thrills on every deck, like The Perfect Storm℠ waterslides and the tallest slide at sea, Ultimate Abyss℠.
